    MESA T-Shirt Empty MESA T-Shirt

Post  JamesM Tue Nov 15, 2011 7:46 pm

Alright guys... and ladies. I need some help here. As of right now we have 18 votes in for the design, here are the standings: Original = 3, Revised = 7, Neither = 12, Other = 1. The other stated to to make the chip larger.

So, here's your chance. If you don't like the design, give me an alternative. Either post your own design or state what you would like to see and someone will attempt to make it.

Here is the template for the T-Shirt with the MicroE and MESA logos; don't worry about the scaling issues with the logos, I have higher quality ones available:

^ Make sure you right click, and click save-as (the T-Shirt template uses vector graphics).

I added a poll. If I did it correctly you should be able to vote for your favorite design. As more designs are made I will add them to the list. It should be possible to change your vote.

    @edit 2
Updated poll statistic from google docs.

I actually liked the idea of using the "fancy u" to represent micro. We should find a way to reincoroporate that in to the shirts. Also, the shirts should not be in b/w o.o

It's greek, you can create it by holding down the left ALT button and pressing 0181 on the numpad (µ) *fun fact of the day*. I made an alternate version of the second design and just simply add the text "µE" on the chip (see below). As for the color, they won't be black and white. The design will most likely be in black ink (saves money), but we'll have to decide as a group on a shirt color.

Don't forget to vote on a shirt by using the poll at the top!

We were brainstorming at the apartment today (Matt, Nate, Eli and I) and we thought of this:
Front side (in the top right corner):

    RIT
    MicroE

    Backside:

Outline of a wafer (centered on the backside)
Inside the outline is a uE symbol, or an array of dies, or both but one is in the background.

Give us a moment to make a draft of it and you'll all love it trust me!

So far I like Dave's or Chris's idea best (I think they are basically the same). The first design doesn't really say anything about us and I don't really get why we are putting a brain on a chip... This just came to mind and it may be dumb but what if we could use like one of Dr. Pearson's analogy things like with the Tapir or something. It could just be an inside joke but it could also be a conversation starter...

That's perfect Chris! That's exactly what I was talking about Very Happy
Liz, I don't remember what Dr. Pearson's Tapir joke was about... lol

indeed, although i do like the intel knockoff, it's not like everyone in our program goes on to work with intel. The wafer design is much mroe specific on what exactly we do in microe

Don't like where the MicroE logo is on the back, you should move it to some other place rather than directly above the wafer. Or at the very least make it not so close to the collar

I think we got distracted with other stuff.. That being said, we are going to have T-Shirts for this years MicroE conference. More info will be available about that later.
